Soft tip bonding and tube-to-tube joining involve bringing two tubes of the same material together (of differing hardnesses) to create a smooth, securely bonded OD/ID interface using a very tightly controlled set of process parameters. Precise heating and cooling is essential to ensure a totally homogenous fusion of the two components. Specifying contrasting colours allows easy identification of the transition point.
Tube OD Range: Tube sizes ranging from 1mm up to 8mm.
Taper Lengths: Tip lengths ranging from 1mm up to 15mm.
All the medical extrusions we source are produced in Class 8 clean rooms in accordance with ISO 13485:2016.
Precision custom die tooling for tube tip forming is nickel alloy or hardened stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. Dies can be non-stick coated for processing certain thermoplastics.
